Hi Eugene

It is not merely Filomena Giese's dea of World Goa Day was posted in cyberGoa
in 1999. Goa
Sudharop helped in a number of other ways in the early years to get WGD off the
ground:

1. After many attempts at a website, Goa Sudharop found a web designer and
funded the website.
Besides Basilio's song, the website gave WGD a presence.
2. Articles were written by Goa Sudharop for WGD promoting WGD in Goan
Association publications,
including speaking at major Goan reunions in the USA.
3. Nearly 500 emails were written privately (not splashed in Goan cyberspace)
in the early years
to various Goan Presidents of Associations, often in tandem with Rene or as a
follow up or
sometimes as an introduction. In the early years when the response was
difficult, I encouraged
Rene to persevere and some of the emailing paid off.

A few years ago when the Goa Computers Schools Project was done, at least two
articles on the
project failed to mention Goa Sudharop's contribution, inspite of it have
provided over 90% of the
funding. I could provide more examples, but suffice to say that Goa Sudharop is
not in the
publicity or self-promotion business but it is important if we believe truly in
Goan unity and
solidarity, to give credit when it is due.

Regards,
George
