Alfred then took the students through the mass and explained many of the prayers and the meanings of the actions associated with them. The session was interactvie and all the students concurred that Mass would be now more meaningful and interesting to them. After the tea break, in the second part of the session, Fr. Alfred spoke about Creative Liturgy. He said it must be relative of life and creativity should be used to make the message understandable. He stressed that a theme is important. In order to use creativity properly, knowledge of the audience is essential. The theme should be simplified and visuals such as puppets, placards and flannel graphs can be used to put the message across. Fr. Alfred demonstrated the use of placards and flannel graphs depicting stories using paper cut-outs on a flannel background.
