Hi Herman,
Porbim Tumkam on 11th anniversary. You have done wonderful job by intiating
this forum in 1994. I know our Mario Rebello was the first to contribute
for this forum from Kuwait and it was thru him that I got myself involved.
Later on many came, some genuine and others fake as we still see them.
Before the establishment of this forum we used to know Goa and Goans spread
all around the wolrd thru Lambert Mascarenhas's monthly Goa Today though in
a limited way but goanet brought total change and now Goan community is
become very close.
I understand that you have lot of plans to introduce new things. Fine, but
what I suggest is that see if you can do something to stop the fake writers
in fake names. In Kuwait they are mushrooming like anything, daily their
number is increasing. See if there is any way to demolish them because
their writings are not beneficial. The standard and integrity of Goanet is
very high, only these cowards are soiling the prestige of goanet. I can
rightly say goanet is the best forum of goans for this reason credible
writers prefer to send their contributions to goanet.
During the last 11 years goanet has done wonderful job. I hope in future it
will do much more than what it has done during the last 11 years.

Goanet celebrates its 11th anniversary today -- August 25, 2005. On behalf

the Goanet Admin team, I'd like to thank all our members for making this
possible.
Goanet had a humble beginning in 1994 with only 20 members. Today, Goanet
is
*the* public forum of choice for Goans worldwide for addressing important
issues. I'd like to thank you, our members, for your role in making this
possible. You've posted interesting articles and shared your opinions
making
Goanet an interesting and vibrant forum. Indeed, Goanet has a great wealth
of
information in its archives. We hope that you will continue to do the same
in
the future.

in and day out. In my eyes, they are nothing short of heroes in our
community.
What does the future hold for Goanet?
As you know, the Goanet mailing lists have been the mainstay of Goanet. We
will continue to expand this network to reach Goans wherever they may be.
We
will also continue to work towards improving the quality of the forum.
Last year saw the Goanet take a huge step forward with the launch of
http://www.goanet.org/. This year, we plan to develop the website further.
We
plan to improve our news service, introduce innovative ways to share
information and to launch community building projects in Goa.
I hope to see more of you volunteer with Goanet. You don't have to be
computer
savvy. You just have to be willing to devote a little time to your
community.
Together we can provide a valuable public service to our community.
