Hi Goanetters!
Ok coming back after a long time again on this auspicious day.
Zaitea tempan eilear mog assta mhonttat. Mog aslear Ghanttar than evunk zata!

Congratulations Herman! Living up to your name, “Carneiro”, you have been truly a humble sheep. Thanks to all your hard work in initiating this net concept on the Goan forum and enabling us to read about Goa and Goans and what happens there by the minute.

Also thanks to the hard-working volunteer team of Frederick Noronha,Viviana Coelho, Bosco D’Mello, Daisy Rodrigues, Michelle D’Souza, Christina Pinto and Vincente Fernandes, who keep sanity on this forum and get rid of the hate-mail and stuff that would hurt the majority of our conscientious Goanetters.

Also thanks to various personalities on this group who post from their heads and from their hearts and who give us a chance to smile and admire their courage, knowledge and wit. At the same I wish the minority of posters who make some of our lives miserable would stay away and prevent us from hitting the ‘delete’ button. Just because this forum is free to express anyone’s opinion doesn’t mean it is a free for all. Think about your readers and how they will feel about your post and its consequences. A good discussion is always a fodder to the brain with its pros and cons.

At least I come here for quality, not quantity. But then these personalities represent our everyday Goan in them: smart, intelligent, jealous, angry, impatient, social, anti-social, conservative, nut-pisso, auto, ishtupid, proud, bhitorle-moticho, pikar-korpi, mangar-korpi, dolldiro, kam-na-bekar-lowddy, shempddo, mogall, apurbayecho, Niz Goenkar, humble, shapodkar, nostalgic, Konknnivadis, racist, casteist, fundamentalist, mental, freeloader, downloader, etc. just like in our neighbourhood in Goa. Wherever we are, you can’t take that goanness from us.

After all, when we open up our goanet posts, don’t we all say “Oh no, not him again(and skip) ”, “Avois , ho ailo”, “Ai Saiba , ho ek assa”, “Aha I have to read this guy”, “Ok let’s click on this interesting post”, “Oh no Aiz kaim na mure”, “Arre hi ladainh mure, konnak time assa?” “Arre this guy has come after a long time”, “Avois one more cut-n-paste mure”, “Ho polle English-Goan ailo”. “Ho kitem Konkani boroita re, no masculine-feminine kaim kollona” (Enough of zupatti here?)

I am glad I can come on this forum and mostly feel good about it.
What have the Chowgules, Dhempos and Salgaonkars and other crore-potis in Goa done for am Goans? I don’t know, may be some charitable trusts, etc. But goanet, whatever you have done for the community sounds good to me. The latest news reports from Goa, deaths, incidents, accidents, crimes, political musical chairs, latest news keep us up-to-date on the day-to-day affairs in Goa. For us “goanet” is akin to Google or Yahoo and goanet does not make any money. Talk about no free lunch. If this is not free lunch what is it? Goenchi Pez with miskut/lonchem?

Of course the high tech helped a lot. Otherwise, can you imagine in olden days you needed to do typing, re-typing, typesetting, editing, printing, and putting it all together and mailing it. You get here all the news from Goa faster than Goa’s Antonette on the internet.

Today you just just hit the keyboard and upload/download. Pure and simple, except the checking of posts by the volunteer team, that’s hard. I am sure there are other things involved, which we, the readers don’t know about.
And it’s all free!

Thanks lastly to all members of goanet. Without you there would be no goanet. And what personality do I belong to? The long Ladainh Konkanivadi type? Ok so fu cares?
