I wholeheartedly agree with Gilbert Lawrence and Mario Goveia's rebuttals of the simple-minded and ignorant comparisons made between the catastrophes in Mumbai and New Orleans. Anyone who knows the topography of New Orleans or who has visited the City would know that one cannot make such a simple comparison. Mario has said it all, so I will not repeat the facts.
What I find sad or perhaps amusing is the utter ignorance of the person who wrote the original article comparing the two disasters. If one studies the motives of people who write such articles, one wull find more often than not, that they are generally people who are have not been able to immigrate to the USA . So they seek every opportunity to belittle the USA. As the saying goes "grapes are sour"
