TIMES OF INDIA Sept 12 has this editorial "Incredible India: Internatioanl survey ranks India 5th among tourist hotspots". The other good news: 1) tourist arrivals have shot up by over 25% in one year and 2) foreign exchange earnings have increased by 40%.
The bad news: Not a single Indian city made it to the Top 20 cities popular wth tourists. My question: how would "Goa" rate as an Indian tourist destination? I am sure it would be higher than our four metro cities. If so, then Goa needs to be treated as a Top Tourist Attraction in its own right and comprehensive plans made accordingly, beginning with the airport(s).
