Dear Goans, Reading the correspondence, I believe we are moving away from the main issue. The issue is the airport and not who is who. We are what we are and will remain what we are as long as we are there. We should look towards the future and should try to improve it for our next generation. I suppose we are all looking for a peaceful Goa for Goans. The past was the past and cannot improve the future.
Coming to the issue of Dabolim, I believe that Dabolim is well placed as an airport facility for access to all important cities and tourist spots in Goa. Goans should try to put pressure into the system in Goa or in Delhi to achieve it. Obviously, it is only Goan who can care for this, nobody else. Each Member State will look for its own advantages and in the process reduce the tourism capacity of Goa. Sorry for my ignorance, I do not really know where MOPA is but I have a feeling that it is not the best place for an airport that the Goans are looking for. It is definitely a place that will not facilitate transport for travelers to Goa. I wished the Navy agreed to move to MOPA instead and allowed the Dabolim airport to be extended to cover increased air traffic. I am afraid that hidden interests will do all they can to prevent it. If the above is not achievable, then there should be proper transport (trains etc.) facilities from MOPA to the main cities in Goa and only then the new airport opened.
