Hello Goanetters,

The last time I read some statistics about Goa towns, was that Vasco- Mormugao area was the largest Urban area in Goa; followed closely by Madgaon, Panjim, and Mapusa!

The Goa Govt. has decided to go in for the 'Monorail Project' between Mapusa, Panjim and Madgao, leaving out Vasco-Mormugao! Every day, thousands of people travel to and back from Vasco-Dabolim-Mormugao area, for work in the harbour and or Dabolim airport and other visits, as also to catch air flights and or meet friends and relatives arriving and departing by air. In fact there is as much traffic to and from this area to Madgao and to Panjim, as the Madgao-Panjim route.

For this reason, I do not understand the criteria involved in denying Vasco-Dabolim-Mormugao passengers the advantage of Monorail travel and comfort! Would't it be correct to have a loop line of Monorail connecting Cortalim with Vasco-Dabolim and then on to Verna and merging, with the Madgao Panjim Mapusa main Monorail line??

This of course makes sense. therefore the Govt. of Goa should amend the route of the Monorail forthwith; thereby making sure that a lot of the road traffic involved here is reduced to a minimum. This way, the Monorail project and route will reduce road traffic congestion and accident rate etc. to every one's benefit!

I hope the SGPIAG, the Goa Desc, other organisations, the politicians and other leaders will talk to the Govt. and enable this amended route. The Govt. of Goa will be the wiser, in listening to this idea and executing the same.
Cheers!
