The two major issues of the present are the proposed new airport at Mopa and the Garbage disposal crisis. There is a great deal of opposition to locating the new airport at Mopa. However, the Government has already acquired a great deal of land in the area. A super highway is also being constructed to make Mopa easily accessible to the Southerners.
Why dont we kill two birds with one shot, and make Mopa the site of a Garbage disposal landfill for all of Goa. The land has already been acquired, the roads are coming, and all the garbage from Margao can go flying up the new super highways to Mopa, and we can continue landing and taking off from Dabolim.
