Wendell is absolutely right !!! We MUST do something. Rene, as convenor of the World Goa Day, you have a responsibility to alert every Goan association world wide, to this disaster that is affecting Goa right now.
I plan to write to all the newspapers in Goa as well as Times of India, India Express, The Hindu, India Today, NDTV 24x7 as well as CBS 60 minutes. We need to hit the politicians in the "gazoo". They are living in the clouds with scant heed for ground reality. The only thing that has them scared is negative publicity as it has the effect of hitting them in the pocket book, as that is all that they care about, their personal wealth. I will also write to every MLA in Goa as well as the head of every Department and all members of my Panchayat. Rene, this is not hype. This is reality. Unfortunately, Goans are inured to seeing trash, a little at a time, so they have gotten used to it. But now we have the potential of a major health disaster. When the rains stop, the stagnant water allows mosquitoes to breed, and we can expect an major outbreak of malaria, dengue fever etc. Please use your bully pulpit to wake up Goans everywhere to save our beloved Goa.
