Business Standard Our Correspondent / Mangalore September 27, 2005 The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) is in the process of forming a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for the implementation of the Mangalore Special Economic Zone and the State government has been approached for this purpose, A Srinivas Rao, newly re-elected president of the KCCI told reporters here on Saturday. : : Rao said that a proposal has been handed over to Konkan Railways to introduce the skybus project in the district. The technical feasibility study of the project is proposed to be mooted through Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). A presentation on the project by Konkan Railways will be arranged by the KCCI shortly, he said. : : He said the KCCI is willing to participate in tourism development projects as a key promoter in the future. He wanted the government to take up tourism development seriously.
