Chinchinim UAE Exchange, the runners-up last year, were cheered on by a partisan crowd but were kept at bay in first half-half through some brilliant saves by Calangute keeper, Warren De Souza. Chinchinim, however, changed their tactics on resumption giving the opposing defence a lot of worrying moments. It came as no surprise when Sandip struck the opener with a fine effort. Chinchinims new-found energy was again rewarded with the second goal following Sandips shot which deflected off a defender a few minutes from the end of the match. Calangutes keeper, Warren De Souza, was named Man of the Match by Nelson Silveira, chairman of the tournament committee. In the second match, Vanxim Divar pipped Morjim by a solitary goal scored by Noel. The two sides were deadlocked goalless in the first-half but Noels late strike earned his side the full points. Marwyn DSouza of Morjim won the Man of the Match award which was presented to him by Mohammed, the manager of Iranian Club. In the first match, SFX Old Goa defeated Zuari by two goals to one. Joaquim, Edwin and Ashok combined well for SFX Old Goa and their efforts paid off when Joaquim scored in the 10th minute of the game from a cross by Edwin. Zuari fought back hard for the equaliser but the SFX Old Goa defence held tight until a penalty was awarded to Zuari. Baptist Miranda scored the equaliser. However, in the seond half, Peter Fernandes scored for SFX Old Goa to clinch the match. Ashok Saterdekar of SFX Old Goa was adjudged Man of the Match and the trophy was presented by Franco Govea, tournament medic and coach of Vanxim Divar. In the second match favorites F.C.Siolim blanked Fatorda Jebel Ali Hotel by a solitary goal. Although F.C.Siolim controlled the game they could not open the score sheet. Evans penalty was brilliantly saved by Fatorda goalkeeper Sebastian. But the missed penalty did not dampen the spirits of F.C.Siolim who fought hard and in the 15th minute of the game, Anthony Fernandes (Antulo) scored for F.C. Siolim.
