Goa to set up a State Knowledge Commission Posted by: Dr DC Misra The progressive state of Goa is going to be the first Indian state to set up a State Knowledge Commission. India has already set up a National Knowledge Commission (NKC) in June 2005.
http://www.digitaldivide.net/news/view.php?HeadlineID=879 The Education Minister, Mr Luizinho Faleiro announced at a press conference in Panaji, the state capital of Goa, on October 14, 2005 that the state government would soon set up a knowledge commission to provide best education to local students. He observed that education had become an economy, industry and that Indian students visiting the United States alone for education purpose, spend around Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 crore annually. The state knowledge commission would work for making Goa a knowledge destination. Public-private participation would also be welcomed for setting up various educational institutions in the state.
