Margalla towers in Islamabad came down and many precious lives were lost. Mansheara, Balakot and Muzzafrabad have been totally wiped out. The estimated count is thousands of casualties. Even our compound lala (gatekeeper) rushed back immediately to his home town Balakot. He lost his sons, mother, sister in law and nephews. People are still trapped.
The roads are all broken and blocked due to landslides, help is not available. Everyone in Pakistan is very depressed, and we are all feeling very sad. Practically all the pathan labourers working at various construction sites in Karachi have left for their home towns. This has also badly affected the public transport system in Karachi and the other cities, as most of the drivers out here are pathans.
