In the second part of the article, there is an interesting comment as
follows: "Several historians suggest that the organisation of casteless
people grew rapidly in Central Provinces through 1940s, but collapsed by
the end of 1950 as the exigencies of electoral politics came to dominate
mass mobilisation."
If there are any sociologists, or political scientists, could they commnet
on the second part of the remarks? I have heard others remarking that in
the present political system, caste identity is exacerbated.
