Regarding from the royal palace in Lisbon (which, before 1755, was near de river Tagus) to northeast, there was a hill marking the way to France. That hill is called "Penha de França" until today. On that hill is a church with a wounderful view over Lisbon called "Our Lady of Penha de França". This was the name some lisboners (monks or not) put to several places over the World. Look around the portuguese Empire and you will find several "Penha de França". Best regards, Henrique Salles da Fonseca / Lisboa
