Panaji, UNI: 'Kantteantlen Ful' directed by Dyanesh Moghe has bagged the Best Film award, besides winning eight other awards, to set a new record this year in the third Goa Film Festival. 'Kantteantlen Ful' directed by Dyanesh Moghe has bagged the Best Film award, besides winning eight other awards, to set a new record this year in the third Goa Film Festival. 'Aleesha', the National film award winning Konkani film, by Rajendra Talak creations, however, had to be content with the second Best Film award along with five other awards. The third film 'Daulat' by Apurbai Chitra has won two awards. In all, nine films had participated in this Festival, which was organised by the Department of Information and Publicity. The awards were distributed at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir last evening in the presence of Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane and a few Bollywood personalites such as Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Sonali Kulkarni and Udita Goswami. The eight other awards bagged by 'Kantteantlen Ful' included Best Actress (Suchita Narvekar), Best Child Artiste (Linpha Carvalho), Best Playback Singer-Male (Anthony San), Best Music (Agostinho D'Cruze), Best Lyrics (Anil Kumar), Best Dialogue and Best Story (Arnold D'Costa) and Best Direction (Dyanesh Moghe). The five other awards won by 'Aleesha' included Best Director (Rajendra Talak), Best Cinematographer (Debu Deodhar), Best Screenplay (Damodar Mauzo), Best Playback Singer-Female (Devki Pandit) and Best Supporting Actress (Prashanti Talpankar). The two other awards bagged by 'Daulat' included Best Actor (Rajiv Mede) and Best Supporting Actor-Male (Rajesh Pednekar). Speaking on the occasion, Sadashiv Amrapurkar urged the film makers to produce quality films without aspiring for the government grants. In Maharashtra, he said, the Marathi filmmakers were running after the government for grants and produce sub-standard films. The Goan filmmakers should not commit such mistakes. He also advised the Goan film producers to desist from imitating the Bollywood or Hollywood styles and instead bring state flavour to their works by selecting stories based on local issues. Mr Rane on the occasion said that his government was committed to provide financial help for the production of regional films.
