Dear friends, As a follow up to the GOACAN Workshop held in Margao on 6th November on Waste Management for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Consumption we are pleased to inform you that we are organising an Exhibition & Public Meeting on Waste Management. The activity is being held on the launch of the National Environment Awareness Month to focus on low cost solutions and peoples involvement in Waste Management DATE: Saturday, 19th November 2005 VENUE: Margao Municipal Garden TIME: 9.30am-4.30pm -Exhibition 4.30pm-6.30pm-Public Meeting The Exhibition will highlight the provisions of the Goa Non-Biodegradable Garbage Control Act 1996 (Goa Act 5 of 1997) and the Goa Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Rules 1997, the principles of Reduce,Reuse & Recycle, Segregation at Source and Polluter Pays. The Public Meeting will be addressed by various Heads of Educational Institutions, Representatives of Housing Societies, Service Clubs, Consumer Forums, NGOs and Village Panchayat Waste Management Committees.
