I hope all Goans in and out of Goa will get involved. The crux of the situation is what the government and police are doing to prevent such incidents. The way motor-cyclists rush on regardless show no respect for life. My own husband was knocked down, suffering only a hair-line fracture. But the doctor prescribed five medications, despite his on-going medications for diabetes. This resulted in his death in Goa this year. The issue here is how can speed - limits be imposed and how can offenders be brought to task. Perhaps the Lions Club, the Rotary Club, tourist companies and other civic-minded bodies could canvass for safety on Goan roads. With Goa's geograpical lay-out and high corruption in the state, this will prove difficult. But the matter must be addressed if we have any regard for life. Mabel Santos (U.K.)
