By Peter Raposo, SAR NEWS PANAJI, Goa (SAR NEWS) -- The officials of the international El Al Israeli Airline have unveiled a special tour package to the Holy Land in Israel to woo Goan Catholic pilgrims. The special tour would take the pilgrims to the place of birth, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, among other things. The team that met several priests from the Archdiocese of Goa included Yair Berrebi, the general manager in-charge of the India and South Asia Region, and Judah Samuel, the marketing manager of the Airline for the Indian subcontinent, besides other officials. “Goa, with a sizable Catholic population is a potential State to popularise the pilgrimage to the Holy Land, which is dear to the Christians due to the religious sentiments,” Mr. Berrebi told a gathering of some 50-odd priests at Lar Estudante at Altinho. “The pilgrimage tour will be arranged in such a way that the devotees will be walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and make this tour a meaningful pilgrimage,” the general manager said. He added that the El Al Airline would ensure “quality service with no hidden costs”. Samuel said the package tour inclusive of six days and nights with two-way airfare (Mumbai to Israel), local touring, stay, breakfast, dinner, etc. would cost Rs 50,000 per person. “The special attraction of the tour is that pilgrims of each tour will be accompanied by a priest to make the pilgrimage memorable,” he added.
