The protestors carried placards which symbolically portrayed evils of Saturday Night Bazaar like drug abuse, crime, terror, AIDS, noi pollution, etc. At the public meeting held at the Chopdem panchayat campus, after the rally, many speakers spoke on evils of SNB and urged the panchayat to revoke the NOC issued to it. Shiv Sena leader Ramesh Naik severely criticised the local sarpanch, Babli Raut, and Pernem MLA Jeetendra Deshprabhu saying hat both had no concern for the masses and regretted that they had ignored culture values by their approval to activity like the SNB. GSRM convener, Devendra Prabhudesai, served an ultimatum to the panchayat to revoke the NOC within five days, failing which the agitation would be intensified.
