On the other point, the fact that the judge who
delivered the death sentence "professes" the Catholic
faith should be irrelevent.  In a country of laws and
not of men, a judge is expected to deliver sentences
based on the law, not on his personal religious
beliefs. If he feels he cannot do this in good
conscience the judge must recuse himself.
