Valmiki Faleiro, Margao >From GoanetWiki Born, bred and based in Margao, Goa, Valmiki Faleiro is a former working journalist, who worked as Staff Reporter at Goa's erstwhile WEST COAST TIMES and later as Goa Correspondent with Mumbai's FREE PRESS JOURNAL Group and the INDIAN EXPRESS. As a freelancer during his college days, he was one of the few young Indians to be selected for an *Asian Writers Workshop* organized by India International Centre in association with UNESCO, Author's Guild of India, and Ministry of Education, Government of India in New Delhi, in 1977. For the last two decades he ran a self-owned business of land development. He was also the Municipal President of Margao between 1985 and 1987.
