Jointly organised by Goa Department of Art and Culture and Yuvak Biradari (Bharat), Mumbai, the event aims at "Bharat Banao - Vasundhara Bachhao (Make India, Save the Earth)".
Goa Art and Culture minister Digamber Kamat, who is also the organising committee chairman, and chief convenor Kranti Shah informed this at a joint press conference here today. The event is intended at promoting a seven-point programme of saving water, protect the environment, beautifying towns, controlling population, empowering women, preserving the family system, and strengthening "Insaani Biradari (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam)". The event will be inaugurated by Yuvak Biradari president Jaya Bachachan at Kala Academy, followed by a procession from Church Square to Miramar on January 9 that will culminate into the closing ceremony which will be presided over by Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane. Sangeet Natak Academy, Delhi, chairman Ram Nivas Mirdha will be the chief guest and Children's Film Society of India chairperson Nafisa Ali Sodhi will be the guest of honour. Mr Shah said Biradari will train 3000 students from Goa in "Ek Sur Ek Taal" between Janaury 5 and 9. It is a value education progrmme to install moral values and inculcate a sense of harmony, brotherhood, service and increased social awareness through mass choir training. The students will be trained in songs of four different Indian languages based on social themes and their final presentation is slated to be held on the concluding day. The cultural troupe of Yuvak Biradari will also present a ballet "Punyatirtha Bharat" in which 64 episodes of Indian history will be brought to life on stage in 100 minutes through theatre dance, music, poetry and visuals.
