Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries has given a surprised New Year gift
to all Goans by releasing a document titled "Goa Agenda: Hopes &
Opportunities of the New Millennium" The agenda is nothing but a vision
which our government should adopt! In this vision besides other unwanted
suggestions, the most striking things that are suggested are setting up of
golf clubs, Disney parks, water sports creation, theme parks, and all other
sorts of tourisms. This proposed vision is totally a bad vision for Goa.
This vision has no provision for common men nor is it local residents
centric! What is the use of such vision which is not benefiting local
residents and Goans? The vision gives scope for outsiders to further grab
our remaining land in the name of vision. On account of TCP ordinance we are
seeing day light robbery taking place with our greenery, fields, salt-pan
areas, seashores and hills. Goa government is likely to adopt this
recommendation in letter and spirit because all suggestions involve loads of
money therefore loads of commission! This Agenda is unfavorable to Goa. It's
not a vision at all, but an intellectual planning to further sale entire Goa
and make sure that Goans are deprived of even the passengers' tickets in our
own Goa.
