I walked through the Saturday night bazaar (Mackies at Baga) on Jan 7. The
Arpora/Anjuna Sat night
bazaar was closed. Of the approx 300+ vendors, may be 5 were Goan. This should
not come as a
surprize to anyone familiar with the Vagator-Sinquerim belt, parts of which
resemble downtown
Dharavi (Bombay slum).

While economic opportunity should be open to migrants and locals, the lopsided
ratio of vendors
with few Goans, tells me Goans are asleep and missing opportunities (both
locals and NRGs who can
invest in Goa).

When we awake (if we do), Goa will be unrecognizable to even those who have a
fleeting
acquaintance with it. Not to mention the failure of NRG's to invest in Goa,
including in land and
maintaining ancestral properties at their OWN expense.

Good-night Goans. Sleep well.

Regards,
George
