RESPONSE: At long last we have, now in the U.K. by law, condensing boilers..these boilers and the termostats are pretty effficient. The thermostats are kept at min temps above 15 deg C even when the heating is not required. This saves money on heating a cold house from the ambient temperature that is outside.
