The 16th of January should be observed as: "Opinion Poll Day"; and functions should be held regularly every year and everywhere , in each Taluka, at least, in 'Remembrence'. I would also enjoin that, Dr Jack Sequeira be honoured, in commemoration of his leadership at the time of the historic Opinion Poll. Goa could name the part of the Four Lane Highway in Panjim, from our beloved Campal up to Dona Paula, after Dr Jack Sequeira. Why Not? Dr Sequeira's achievement is definitely greater than that of B. Bandodkar, or any other contemproray Politicians. Also a Statue of Dr J. Sequeira be installed at the Campal Gardens , in addition to the one famous statue already there. But more importantly, the memory of the great achievement at the historic 'Opinion Poll' should be kept alive, by talks and shows etc, on this Day every year, by all the people og Goa and their leaders!
