Panaji: Half-centuries by Swapnil Asnodkar and Mandar Phadke helped Goa post 264 for four on the opening day of Ranji Trophy plate 'A' match against Himachal Pradesh at Panjim Gymkhana ground here on Tuesday. Phadke (53 batting) shared an unbeaten 100-run partnership with Shadab Jakati (43 batting). Electing to bat, Goa made a solid start with Asnodkar setting the tone. Asnodkar, along with Sagun Kamat (37), took the score to 82 before Kamat was caught by Gupta off Rahul Panta. Swapnil batted sensibly and found a good partner in Sahil Dhuri. Both added 66 runs for the third wicket before Dhuri fell to Vijay Kumar for 16. For Himachal Pradesh, Rahul Panta was the most successful bowler claiming two wickets.
