Chris,
Just out of curiosity, is it acceptable in the USA to say... "freed negroes
from slavery..." The word "negroes" would be totally unacceptable in the UK
and replaced by the word "blacks". I know there is a historical context re
the terminology but surely it can't be acceptable in the way you have put
it.
Just asking really.
Cornel
PS I hope Mario, the eternal pundit who knows it all, won't reply on your
behalf as I can't take anything he says seriously, especially when I want to
learn something.

Let us also remember and honor Abe Lincoln, also known as
the Great Emancipator who freed negroes from slavery and the Republicans
in
Congress who helped tip the 1964 Civil Rights Act even when Democrats such
as Algore Sr and the Robt Byrd Klaneagle opposed it.

January 16...
Today is Martin Luther King day in the USA. Goan Americans (and others
around the world) owe him
and others a debt of gratitude. They fought for civil rights and equal
opportunity, inlcuding
economic opportunity from which we benefit today. See

Today is also the feast of the Patron of Goa, Blessed Joseph Vaz. All
Goans can appreciate the
inter-religious achievements of this great Goan. See more info. at
