Dear George
May I suggest that you may have missed the main point about the Merger Plan.
It wasn't the plan to move to Maharashtra ...as much as have their buddies
in Maharashtra HELP them to take financial control of Goa.
Nobody was planning to move anywhere.....only moving the "controls".
The plan was certainly to stay RIGHT in Goa and "do the needful".
It might prove enlightening to ascertain WHO it is that was pro-Merger with
Maharashtra.
These guys were in very good books with the Salazarists.
No prizes to guess that these pro-merger Salazarists also included non-Goans
- who then miraculously (overnight) became Freedom Fighters.
