SDM begins probe into episode of disappearance of kit boy NT News Service Margao Jan 21: The deputy collector and sub-divisional magistrate, Mr Suresh Pilarnkar has started a probe into the mysterious disappearance of the kit boy accompanying the Goa University women's football team to Manipur, even as a police team accompanied by university officials are in Madhya Pradesh to carry out investigations.
Mr Pilarnkar who held a meeting with the principal of Carmel College, Sr Emma Maria and the team manager, Mr Olavo Gama, disclosed that he had been told by the college authorities that they were against the untraceable kit boy, Mr Peter D'Mello from accompanying the GU women football team. The SDM informed that the college authorities claimed that the allegations made by the family members of Mr D'Mello against them were baseless and untrue. The college authorities claimed that they had always treated Mr Peter D'Mello well and had also been helping his family. The college principal, according to Mr Pilarnkar, maintained that a police complaint was filed about Mr D'Mello's missing. "Mr Gama has stated that Mr D'Mello had got off the Dadar-Guwahati train at Majihari when the train had stopped due to signal. It is however feared that once Mr D'Mello got off the train, the doors to the air-conditioned compartment were perhaps shut keeping Mr D'Mello out."
