Garbage collection resumes in MMC ward BY HERALD REPORTER MARGAO, JAN 21 — Door-to-door collection of garbage resumed in the Colmorod ward of Margao Margao Municipal with the Civic body deputing five workers for the purpose. Ward Councillor Savio Coutinho informed that the door-to-door garbage collection was stopped after the Municipality terminated an office order employing a number of persons on daily wages. "The ward was in total mess since then given that the Municipality had earlier withdrawn all bins from public places", he said. Given that the Civic body has placed five workers at the disposal of Colmorod ward, Coutinho disclosed plans to extend the door-to-door garbage collection concept to new areas of the ward. -- Cheers, Gabe Menezes.
