Narvekar assures Socorro villagers of playground

Panaji Jan 21: The Law Minister, Mr Dayanand Narvekar has assured the
villagers of Socorro that the playground in the village would be
developed with added facilities of a multipurpose hall at an estimated
cost of Rs 65 lakh under the scheme of SAG.Mr Narvekar was speaking at
the meeting organised to listen to public grievances and review the
developmental works at village panchayats, Socorro and Salvador-do-Mundo
in Bardez, recently.  Mr Narvekar said, the works of various minor roads
in these areas will be taken up shortly besides, he said, water tank is
proposed to be constructed at 20-point programme colony in Socorro.

At Salvador-do-Mundo, the Law Minister stated that the work of hotmixing
of road costing Rs 2 crore from Aldona-Salvador-do-Mundo to Malim will
be commenced soon. The widening of internal roads will be taken up at an
estimated cost of Rs 65 lakh, he added.  Mr Narvekar also instructed the
PWD officials to prepare estimates for construction of road in
Salvador-do-Mundo village. He said, an amount of Rs 1 crore has been
earmarked for construction of 650 cubic mts capacity water tank at
Torda. He said the desilting of nullah would be taken up in the area. He
also assured to provide adequate basic amenities and growth requirements
of the villagers.  The Minister was accompanied by Mr Gupesh Naik, ZP
member, Ms Ditosa Lobo, sarpanch of Socorro and senior government
officials.
