Very tragic. Highways like these, which allow speeds
as much as 100kmph, must NOT allow pedestrians or
animals to cross, or for U-turns to be performed.
They are more like motorways (or freeways in
US-speak). Govt should seriously think of providing
alternative crossing facilities, like underpasses, at
the most common points of usage along the highway. (I
understand at least one such underpass has been built
at Verna?).
