If it was not for the mass migration of most of the administration, under threat from the 1962 edict of the Candeth Govt, and later, the "punishment" inflicted on Goans by the losing mergerist Bandodkar, things would have definitely been a lot better. But then, had Goa been "independent", the Maharashtrawadi Gomantaks wouldn't have existed - would they? Nor would the "imports" be in a position to demand their pound of flesh (they were already in position and well-settled in Goa by the time Goa got its statehood) and give Goans the run-around. But then, it is only my humble viewpoint. I could be wrong. Gabriel de Figueiredo. Melbourne - Australia. P.S. Considering it is virtually impossible for an "outsider" to open business in Kerala, how difficult is it for a Keralite (or for that matter, any non-Goan) to open business in Goa? Has this "loophole" been closed yet? ____________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Check out gigs in your area on the comprehensive Yahoo!
