Attorney hurt in mishap HERALD CORRESPONDENT MAPUSA, FEB 8 -- Assagao Communidade Attorney Prof Cajetan Raposo and a student were injured in a road mishap, when the motorcycle they were riding was struck by an unidentified truck near Hotel Green Park at Guirim on Wednesday afternoon.
In his complaint with Mapusa police, Prof Raposo has suspected illegal quarry owners, who are illegally extracting stones from Assagao communidade land, to be behind the incident. Mr Raposo has been spearheading the drive against quarrying on communidade land at Assagao and has lodged complaints with government departments in this regard.
