Indian cuisine fascinates Bill HERALD NEWS DESK PANJIM, FEB 18 – Former US president Bill Clinton who stayed at the Hotel Leela Palace declared the wide range of Indian dishes served to him as "awesome." In the midst of a hectic agenda the Leela Palace was recommended by US Senator Stephen Z Solarz for Clinton's stay. Flying straight in on a private flight from Islamabad, the president was warmly welcomed by the hotels' Chairman Capt C P Krishnan Nair and his wife Leela. The hotel extended a complete Indian hospitality experience to Clinton and his high powered 15 member entourage of CHAI (Clinton HIV Aids Initiative). Speciality chefs were flown down from the Leela hotels at Mumbai and Bangalore to show-case Indian cuisine at its best. For the very special dinner, the Indian speciality restaurant Jamavar was the venue of the night and most aptly reflected the 'Essence of India' through ambience and music. The team ordered a wide range of dishes from the Jamavar menu. Clinton declared the meal "awesome". He particularly relished the Chicken Makhani, Biryani and the Dal-e-Jamavar. -- Peace be with you!
