<"800 acres of land at Dabolim airport is left unused. We have two runways at Dabolim and we can add another one", Nair said.>
This is the kind of misinformation and/or misreporting that makes one want to tear his hair out! That too from someone whose business is so heavily dependent on the continuation of Dabolim airport. He should know Dabolim like the palm of his hand. Are the 800 acres of unused land within or outside the present airport which covers almost 1700 acres? Where is the second runway at present? These problems crop up merely because of the shroud of secrecy surrounding the Dabolim facility on account of it being under military control. We need to know the full facts about Dabolim especially from the Mopa project report which should have given it in-depth consideration. Instead it may well have brushed the politically inconvenient details under the carpet.
