I have constantly held that the record shows that for every successful NRI there are perhaps 10,000 equally intelligent and enterprising people who stayed home. Indians perform brilliantly under conditions of free enterprise and free competition, against all comers, and the US is an excellent example of this. Indians at home were hampered for decades by the unfortunate socialist philosophies of the freedom fighters and the contempt for private business and businesspeople of the Nehru family, but are now coming into their own ever since Manmohan Singh was able to "liberalize" some of India's economy, but much more needs to be done. > In the midst of India's remarkable progress, the infrastructure lags far behind and should be tackled with far more urgency in my opinion, which will not only expand economic development and opportunity for all Indians but provide good jobs for the current rural poor.
