Strange you should say that - there was indeed a bid
some years ago by Singapore Airlines to takeover
Australia's second-largest airline, Ansett.
Unfortunately for Australians, it was bought by Air
New Zealand, slowly stripped of its assets, and Ansett
"died" a couple of years down the track. Attempts at
revival failed. Today its place has been taken over
by Virgin Blue ...
