PWD engineers chargesheeted BY HERALD REPORTER PANJIM, FEB 28 - The State Government has chargesheeted three engineers of PWD on the grounds that the repair works undertaken by them of the Department's Divisional office building at Monte, Margao, which were shown as having been completed in all respects, had certain items not executed at all while a few others were done without adhering to the work specifications. This was confirmed by the Director and Secretary, Vigilance, Mr Ashwini Kumar, IAS, who supervised the investigation. The names of the engineers are T G Patil, Assistant Engineer and two Junior Engineers K G Velingkar and N K Paigankar. Approving a penalty to be imposed on them, the Government has decided to recover Rs 5,000 from them and stop two increments. As one of the engineers is retiring later this year, the penalty will be modified.
