<It may be recalled that this project was initiated a couple of years ago mainly to ease the traffic congestion along the National Highway 17. However, as this was not feasible, it was decided to broaden the present NH17 and go for a separate expressway. This is also expected to be the main road link for the Mopa international airport, if at all, it comes up.>
If at all 'what' comes up - the Mopa airport or the expressway?! If Mopa is scrapped will the expressway also stand cancelled? Will Churchill object to the expressway too since it will help North Goa capture hotel business hitherto 'monopolised' by the south? Ensuring that Dabolim civil enclave continues is fine. But there should be no parochialism in the overall development of Goa. The expressway would serve this purpose "if at all it comes up". Cheers.
