New sabhagrah constructed at Pissurlem NT News Desk Panaji March 1: The Chief minister, Mr Pratapsingh Rane said that the government was committed to the development of the rural areas and efforts were being made to provide all basic amenities like roads, water, power supply, toilets to the people in the villages. Mr Rane was speaking after inaugurating a sabhagrah (community hall) constructed under RDA scheme at an approximate cost of Rs 3.25 lakh at Dhatwada-Pissurlem in Sattari taluka, on Sunday. Mr Venkatesh Desai, ex-panchayat minister; Mr Ladu Harvalkar, ZP member; Ms Saraswati Wadkar, sarpanch; Mr Gajanan Gaude deputy sarpanch; Mr Sagun Wadkar, ex-sarpanch also graced the occasion. Speaking further, the Chief Minister said,"The sabhagrah has provided a platform to the villagers to come together and will boost unity and promote cultural and leadership talents among the youths of the village." He also told the parents to take keen interest in the education of their wards. "I have given priority to bring in industries and create employment opportunities to the educated youths," he added. Mr Desai and Mr Wadkar also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Ms Wadkar welcomed the guests. Mr Dyaneshwar Gaude compered and later proposed the vote of thanks.
