<Saying that Dabolim will be closed down forever if Mopa becomes a reality,
Alemao said he can fight the battle in New Delhi if the State Cabinet takes
a resolution in favour of retaining Dabolim as the lone international
airport.>

Churchill seems only intent on scoring a political KO or being 'virtually'
kayoed himself (if you know what I mean). No halfway house for him which
will help to constructively resolve the issue. Pity.

Instead of asking the state government to pass a resolution asking the
centre to revoke the March 2000 cabinet decision he is going on a tangent
and asking for something new!

If the revocation is in hand, then one can think of ways to ensure that
Dabolim and Mopa co-exist over the long haul rather than worrying needlessly
about Dabolim being put out of business by Mopa. These ways include
meaningfully sharing the Dabolim traffic, (re-)designing Mopa suitably,
upgrading Dabolim as needed, instituting a regulatory mechanism to monitor
the Dabolim/Mopa situation and take remedial action etc. This requires some
mental/intellectual toughness which Churchill seems incapable of
demonstrating to his ardent followers who seem to behave like sheep in
wolf's clothing.

I also hope by now he has realised that his misinformation about multiple
international airports in a state is, too, not helping matters at all!
Cheers!
