From: Raimundo Menezes To: SANNY VAZ Subject: Excellent CD "Saibinicho Tisro Segredh" !! Date: Thu, 2 Mar 2006 13:20:55 -0500 (EST)
Hi Sanny! Your CD was great!!! You must have known thru' Silviano that I am very much active with the tiatro's here. I have been directing and acting since 1989. So I have a huge collections of Konkani Cds and casettes from Goa. Your album is very much up to the mark. I have been listening to the albums that are produced now a days in Goa. There is nothing to talk about them, I listen to them once and then they catch dust (I am a very bad critic). Your album is something that has caught my ears after a long time. I listen to it practically everyday in the car. Your first number 'Saibinicho Tisro Segredh' is a very powerful song. Well placed lyrics, well sung and the appropriate tune to the theme. It was only after I listened to the song that I was very much awake about the theme of that song. Now I remember why Pope John Paul -II was talking about Mother Mary all the time. We are in a world that has forgotten everything and we need song writers like you to awaken us and remember things. I was talking about the song to my wife, and she was telling me that she had gone on the web-site called Our Lady of Fatima to find out more about the facts. Keep it up!!! The other song I liked was 'Tiatre ani tiatrist', good song and good lyrics. 'Ostori' came next. 'Sorea Axecho' was a good theme, the sastti style gave it a nice touch. 'Mog' and 'Sounsarantchem Adnixitt' were well sung with good lyrics. To be very frank, I wan't very much impressed with the other singers. Though the lyrics were good, they did not bring out your lyrics with full power. I heard the song 'Rogtak Visrona Rogot' before. By the way why didn't you sing your original version? (the one you sang with Flory). I know that song very well and have performed it here. I think that was a better version. But also, I feel the singers have to bring out the song . On the whole your Album is simply great!!!. In my opinion, after 'Ti Moji Maim-2' and 'Goenkar Pordesant' , I feel Goans finally has something to listen too, something with a good singer, good lyrics, good themes and good music. KEEP IT UP and God bless! Mog assum dhi! Raymond Toronto, Canada
