Good Day to you , This is a personal request to u to pls have this letter passed on to all the readers.
It is unfortunate that sometimes people go through extremes to make a living & it is unfortunate that some people en cash upon this situation to fill their pockets.. I refer to the first casualty which has taken place in the CAYMAN ISLANDS. The boy by the name of Carmo Dias from (apparently) Chinchinim south Goa committed suicide. Nobody really knows as at now weather it is a suicide or murder. The Cayman Islands Police has taken a number of his room mates for questioning, but God knows what the outcome will be. Many people think Cayman Islands is a heaven where they can make fortunes & this is the picture presented by the so called agents who take around 4 to 5 lakhs & even more to get a work permit visa for the innocent to be employee.Besides this there are so many restrictions & hurdles to obtain a British Transit visa, which compounds the situation. Pls let me make this point very clear, through the several years I have been in this place there is NO AGENT or any Recruiting AGENCY for the CAYMAN ISLANDS. Let me add a point here, If only the immigration/ labour board in the Cayman Islands knows of this recruitment racket those very people will be deported the very next day. The so called agents promise that you make a lakh in a month is totally false & miss-leading. The hourly rate for a security Guard(The Only Job The so called agents can find) is just 5 to 5.50CI Dollars an hour, which works to around US $ 6.87 an hour. Now from this wage rate the employee has to pay for his rental, electricity, water, food & sometimes even for his work permit. Life is not easy as presented by the so called agents. Believe me there are no AGENTS for the Cayman Islands. The only agent will be your friend who can put in a good word for you & find you a JOB. I know of people who sell "their just everything" to come here thinking they will make a fortune but that's just the wrong picture. To pay for the loan of around 5 lakhs which the so called agents take will take the employee over a year & a half to pay with a struggle. Pls we have lost one Goan in the CAYMAN ISLANDS, God knows what his reasons were , but for sure he was frustrated with life, may be because of the loan he had taken from home, may be because of the money he was making ??? PLs my dear goankar do not get fooled by the so called self claimed agents high promises. They are just out to suck you...
