Panaji: Tariq Jalal, member of the Pakistan-based militant group Tehrique-ul-Mujahiddin, which has been linked to Lashkhar-e-Toiba was arrested by the Goa police on Saturday night. Interrogation revealed that a Pakistan-based militant outfit was planning to strike at tourist and pilgrimage sites, including world heritage monument, Basilica of Bom Jesus. Jalal, 28, from Srinagar has been staying in Goa for the last eight months. Police recovered two kg of RDX, two Russian-made hand grenades, two electronic detonators, two cameras, two mobile phones and a compact disc (CD) from his possession after his arrest last night. "The terrorist (Tariq) was a 'carrier of explosives' and the executor of the attack may have been yet to arrive in Goa," Director General Neeraj Kumar said. ~(^^)~ Avelino
