In addition to the destruction of hitherto pristine
forests and wildlife habitats, a larger and more 
serious issue with building such a facility on a
plateau is that run off and seepage from the
sanitation systems up there will contaminate all the 
aquifers in the surrounding valleys, and the wells
that tap into the aquifers.
