I totally agree with Elizabeth Carvalho's message on the topic " Re: HIV test to be made mandatory for marriage.."
The government does not have the right to legislate on a personal decision between two individuals. If either of the two parties (in arranged marriages) has any doubt then they can request the other individual to present the report of an HIV test as a condtion of the contract being undertaken. If we allow the Government to enter into the private lives of indiviuals with this proposed legislation .. will there be any way of stemming the invasion? marie d'souza
